In previous comics, he was very proud of the gallstones he made, so I guess he wants to make prettier ones now, maybe so others appreciate them as well?
He’s also the prime example of someone who wasn’t talented to begin with. Even after his first attempts at creativity (the gallstones) were criticized and rejected, he persevered and became “better.”
