This is one of my favourite Awkward Yeti, I think it sums up life and to a degree living with disability. It’s beautifully simple and yet describes so much of what we try and fight for every day.

Heart is so cute! She and brain are a perfect couple.

She? I see heart as a he :p funny how it changes from one to another. For me he is like a naive flatmate of brain.

I know, the moment I wrote that, I thought – wow, how many combinations of relationships do these characters represent for people. Sometimes my husband is the heart and sometimes I am, same with brain. The other organs seem to be genderless, though.

In my head all the organs are like students, not down-to-earth as they don’t have adult responsibilities yet, and brain is like the older friend who graduated first and has to start acting mature and be rational. But I am a student myself, so I guess it all depends on your reality!

That’s interesting, that the organs are “not down to earth” – they are irrational and self absorbed, only concerned with their own needs, not the needs of the whole. And that’s true. But, then again, they are all working for the same body.

Ah how the brain and heart rarely see eye to eye
