Wikipedia says a Swagger stick or a baton is ceremonial and to denote authority. I’m not sure if that’s what the comic depicts…

It has a few nicknames but never had a formal one, still doesn’t to this day. Many just nicknamed it a “croupier stick”, but it’s basically a rake.
You can call it whatever you want really, but it’s not a walking stick.
